Consum'actors

This term is used with two different meanings:
  • An active and responsible consumer aware of what he/she consumes from an ecological point of view.
  • A consumer which participates in the consumption value chain (Xavier Contesse).
This term represents a strong trend in the economy.

Coopetition

This is the situation when companies decides to share some common assets that do not represent competitive advantage.
  • E.g.: when two car manufacturers decide to jointly build factories to share economy of scale.
The word is formed from Competition and Cooperation.

Crowd innovation

This is the action of exploiting the Internet crowd in order to find innovative solutions.
The concept had been created in the 90 by Dr Bingham, R&D Manager at Elly Lilly, in order to develop new molecules.
This is a very efficient process as «crowd» as a innovation potential much higher that the one from a single closed R&D team in a company.

Crowd sourcing

This is the action of exploiting the Internet crowd in order to externalize low value tasks.
The word is derived from outsourcing. Especially used in crowd innovation processes.

Innov'actors

People or companies involved in collaborative innovation.
It is used to name people or companies which rely on collaborativite processes of innovation.

Open Innovation

The idea was crafted based on the fact that some companies can no longer rely on their internal teams to innovate.
The idea relies on a kind of iformal trade market between companies and between companies and laboratories. They will exchnage ideas and patents amongst themselves.
  • On one side, a company offers to others patents that it does not use.
  • On the other hand, it can exploit ideas and concepts created by otehrs outside its walls.
This is a fast growing strategy for large corporations.

Member are individuals registered on the platform

Registered Members

Registered members are registered and thoroughly completed their personal information in the personal account area.
This status gives them access to crowd innovation challenge participation.
